Dear Brothers and Sisters

 

Greetings from the Griffin-Spalding Civic Improvement League. Over the past (87) eighty seven years, the G-S Civic Improvement League has been on the forefront leading the charge in civic rights, justice, equality, care and support to those in need. The League's mission, vision, and focus over the years still stands as a testament to the work, dedication, and sacrifice along with grace and love by League Members. Since 1939, the effort to do this remarkable mission was rooted in prayer, sacrifice and ongoing communication with community members and leaders.

    

The League's primary missions include activities such as partnering educators with support of Title 1 elementary schools across Spalding County, providing Thanksgiving boxes for needy families, Red Cross blood drives throughout the year, manning the kettle for the Salvation Army Christmas Drive, back to school programs, voter registration drives, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Parade, Annual Spring Banquet Fundraiser, and helping people find part-time and full-time employment when possible.

 

A great concern of our organization is staying viable and visible across the Griffin Spalding Community. We are seeking members who are willing to commit themselves to the goals and objectives of the organization and help achieve better lives for the citizens of Spalding County.

 

 I also want to thank the League members, past and present, for their dedication, unwavering commitment, and love for this community. Our League could not have survived for so long without your support and gifts of service. May God's grace, mercy, love, and peace continue to be with you and this organization.
